Dr. Muhammad Azhar, also known as Azhar Memon, is a dedicated veterinary professional and researcher specializing in veterinary parasitology 🦠. With an M.Phil. in Veterinary Parasitology from Sindh Agriculture University, he has actively contributed to animal healthcare, disease surveillance, and research in Pakistan. Currently, he serves as a Veterinary Doctor/Surgeon at Pet Village Animal Hospital, Karachi, and as a Veterinary Officer for the Government of Sindh. His expertise spans molecular parasitology, animal disease surveillance, and livestock management, making significant contributions to veterinary science.
Dr. Azhar holds a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) 🎓 from Sindh Agriculture University, Tando Jam (2013-2018). Pursuing his passion for research, he completed an M.Phil. in Veterinary Parasitology (2019-2020) from the same institution. His academic excellence earned him the Chancellor’s Gold Medal 🏅 in the Faculty of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Sciences.
With extensive experience in veterinary medicine and research, Dr. Azhar has worked across various institutions. He currently serves as a Veterinary Officer at the Livestock and Fisheries Department, Government of Sindh and as a Veterinary Doctor/Surgeon at Pet Village Animal Hospital, Karachi. Previously, he contributed as a Research Associate at the Sindh Institute of Animal Health and as a Research Scholar at Sindh Agriculture University. His work spans animal healthcare, disease surveillance, livestock management, and vaccine development 🏥.
Dr. Azhar’s contributions to veterinary science have been recognized with prestigious accolades. He received the Chancellor’s Gold Medal 🏅 for academic excellence and was awarded the HEC Indigenous Scholarship 🎓 by the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan. His active membership in professional societies, including the Pakistan Society of Parasitology and Pakistan Veterinary Medical Practitioner, further highlights his commitment to the field.
Dr. Azhar’s research is centered on veterinary parasitology, zoonotic diseases, animal disease surveillance, and antimicrobial resistance 🔍. He has contributed to molecular diagnostics, vaccine development, and livestock disease management. His studies on Haemonchus contortus, beta-lactamase resistance in Escherichia coli, and cadmium toxicity in male reproduction have been published in reputed journals, reflecting his expertise in veterinary and biomedical sciences.
